...why not talking a little bit in English?

Your project looks really good, it's possible to see that there is a lot of job behind...and coke!

I do believe that documentation is very important to share and let the project grove.
That's why I do release it on the web.

I would like to know little bit more about your design especially about the software behind...

Are you writing the software with GNU license or are you keeping it covered by a copyright?
Which operative system are using?
Which program language do you use?
Do you have some block diagram (UML or similar) about the software structure?
Which library do you use for video applications?
Which library do you use for speech?

On my side I hope to share all the software soon. Everything will be released under the GNU GPL license. The fist release will let just the robot move...to make it happen there are about 50 libraries in place, written specifically for Artorius.

I'm looking forward your reply.

you can also contact me privately using the email you can find on my web page:

hello dear laurenti,

actually, "calibanproject"(fabien) is at an exhibition, "alchimie" during this week end.
http://www.triplea.fr/alchimie/pages/index.php
i think he could reply to you the next week.
but in my knowledge, we have not documentation about the software architecture of Caliban.
all of that we have , you can read in this forum.
we are a french association and a community of caliban friends. (2 things)
and the project caliban is the personal project of the head of association (fabien alias calibanproject).
our association would make humanoid robots with real intelligence. perhaps a dream...
and each member can have his project.

in this topic, calibanproject shows us, your project as almost a previous step of his project or another similar project :)
you made a great work ;)

Dear Phil,

I do think that beside the fact that I'm building the right arm instead of the left one, the project are quite similar! :)
I'm not sure if you are not willing to share information because your project is covered by copyright or just because you do not have documentations.

My point of view is that documentation is really important to let other people join and understand the project. Furthermore I do think that there are quite a lot of very good humanoid robot projects around the world, but all of those have been done by University and Companies that keep the project a secrete.

I do think that life is too short to make such project a secret. It would die with us if we will not share it. That 's why I want to differentiate Artorius from the others, sharing the design...
...some how is what we see every day with Linux.
...a great product made by people...for people...

Mauro

hello dear Mauro!

we are like to you, about this question : the design and source codes in a principle of free sharing .
but our association is very young (one year) and we don't had the time about all questions of the copyright. we just would not lose the rights to use our works !
-
and i think, it is a very good idea, if we would work together, or for sharing our works.
but it is a subject for the head of our association .
;)

Dear Phil,

I do see your point, but I do not feel like losing my right when I share the project's doc. My feeling is more like having made it greater.

It's hard to accept to share projects...
..but we like when we find free library and tools! :)

Regards,

Mauro
